Funding
St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization; all donations are tax deductible. The Clinic relies on donations, grants and the community at large to meet an annual operating budget of $1,000,000. On this budget, over $19 million in medical care and prescription drugs are provided.
We are very proud of our gold star of transparency on GuideStar. When a donation is made to the clinic, we send a letter of acknowledgment to the donor as soon as possible. We also notify any person(s) honored or commemorated without mention of the monetary value of the donation.
Donation and Acceptance of Medical Goods
The Clinic accepts donations of certain medical items and goods needed for Clinic operations. Due to South Carolina Pharmacy Board regulations, we can no longer accept donated medicines. Contributions are deductible for income tax purposes to the extent allowed by law.
